If you listened to the most recent episodes (C1E18 - Shots ft. KneeCoalWoody and C1E19 - The Final Countdown), then you know the Deitouched are fighting in the Challenge of Champions. The Challenge is, of course, a grant competition to find the best of the best of the best (sir!) adventurers in Telunor. The prize? The coveted right to Citizenship in Solarion.
But what of the history of the Challenge? And, more importantly, what if you wanted to run the Challenge in your own group? What are the rules? Click "Read More" to find out!
In honor of Stephanie's 30th birthday, we’re hosting another giveaway!
Steve, Stephanie, and I all visited Las Vegas and decided to check out their oldest and largest game store, the Little Shop of Magic. It’s a really neat store and we recommend you check it out if you’re in the area (you should also check out Koma Sushi next door for some super yummy sushi, but that’s beside the point). While we were at the store we saw they had some cool swag emblazoned with their logo, and we decided to snatch it all up for the giveaway. Up for grabs are a drink Koozie, patch, tote bag, and two Shop of Magic 24th anniversary d6’s.
So how can you enter? You can have up to three entries, one each on Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit. Click those links to be taken to their respective entry posts. The winner will be chosen at random and announced on the May 28th episode.

UPDATE: Congrats to Megan Drehmel for winning the contest! Thank you to everyone who entered! Be sure to keep an eye open on our News page or Facebook and Twitter for more upcoming giveaways!
Big news, folks! We've been asked to join the Necropodicon Network!
What does that mean for us? Well, rest assured nothing will change as far as our episode releases and structure. Shocking Gasp remains under our full control, and there are not changes being made to our RSS feed (how you get your episodes). And any funding you supply either through Ko-Fi or Patreon will continue to support us. The biggest change you'll notice is the addition of one or two 30 to 60 second promo clips at the end of each new episode. These clips will highlight some of our partner shows on the Network, so be sure to stick around until the end and maybe you'll hear something that will spark your interest!
We are happy to announce that Shocking Gasp is now providing transcripts of our episodes!
There are many reasons a podcast should provide transcripts. It helps boost SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It provides fans the ability to copy and paste their favorite moments into Tweets, Facebook posts, blogs, and so on. It makes it easier for the editor to find good content for a recap. But the foremost reason is accessibility.
Accessibility is important. We want people who are D/deaf, hard of hearing, or struggle with understanding us to have a way to enjoy the show. We care about these people. We care about everyone, really. So if we can find a way to help you enjoy our story, then it will always be worth our effort.
I mean that. I promise you that we will never, ever charge for transcriptions. Shocking Gasp will always provide this service at no cost. So if you've found someone charging for them, let us know. We'll shut them down.
Currently, we've got no income, and affordable (read: free) transcription services offer limited functionality. So we're doing it on our own. Stephanie is transcribing each episode for us by hand. It's a long process, and I love her for doing it. But what that means is our transcripts will lag episode release, sometimes by weeks or even months. We'll get them up there, that's a promise, and we'll do it as fast as we can.
As soon as we can afford it, we'll start getting professional transcriptions so we can deliver them in a timely manner. But until then, I hope you can forgive a little tardiness or the occasional mispelling.
And be sure to let us know if you have any tips or comments. Thank you.

Our "Name that Viking" contest has concluded! We received a lot of really good NPCs for the contest, and it was really tough to pick a winner. So tough, in fact, that we chose two!
Our first place winner is Nicole Woodworth (@KneeCoalWoody on Twitter) for her submission, Jørgen Torp!
Our second place winner is Robert Allen Porter (via Facebook) for his submission, Jan Vindar the Victor!
Congratulations to both of our winners! You'll get a change to meet Jørgen and Jan in the next story arc, or read their stories by click "Read More" below!
